It’s hard to find a website that doesn’t have Career Builder-sponsored articles, ads, and listings, but Monster appears to be sick of it. They’re partnering up with Philadelphia Media Holdings, owner of the Inquirer and the Daily News, according to Reuters et al.

Monster says that they hope it becomes the first tepid step into the larger world of collaboration with the stodgy old media, but there are some indications Monster is still simply testing the waters:

“The strategy is, is there a model that would work with the newspapers,” Andrew McKelvey, Monster’s CEO, told Reuters. “To date, we haven’t found one.” – from the Reuters article
